Residents and visitors alike are gearing up for a weekend of celebration, fun, great food and drink, great music and a show that promises to be the biggest and best yet.
On Sunday 3/17/2024, Cabo Roig will host this year's eagerly awaited St. Patrick's Day Parade, with all the fun starting at 3:00 p.m. The parade is a testament to the hard work, fundraising and generous contributions of local businesses and associations.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Cabo Roig is the largest St. Patrick's Day celebration in continental Europe. People usually travel from Ireland and all over the world to attend this Irish event. Previous parades have attracted thousands of visitors.
Cabo Roig has a rich history and deep connection with the many Irish emigrants who have come to settle on the sunny Orihuela Costa in recent years and this year's event will bring the best of Ireland.
The famous Cabo Roig Strip, the array of bars, clubs, cafes, shops and restaurants that make up the coastal promenade adjacent to the main coastal road, will be transformed for the day into a Mediterranean sea of green Irish pride. The parade will start at 3:00 PM from Calle Agua. The route will head south along Calle del Mar and turn right at the end of the road to continue north along the front of the strip next to the N-332 road.
The parade is expected to be the most colorful yet, with 43 ensembles including traditional bands, dancers dressed in glamorous and elaborate costumes and floats made by many local businesses.
A number of classic cars and motorbikes will pass along the route before the main procession, led by the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums and St Patrick himself.
The event is suitable for the whole family, will offer entertainment for children, live music throughout the day and bars and restaurants along the strip will be offering a selection of special menus and of course … Guinness! This spectacular event is definitely worth a visit.
